Small Business Saturday: Sew-It-All and Brenda’s Cookie Creations
One thing that makes me snow happy is promoting other small businesses we use here in the Denver area and love! I’m excited to launch small-business Saturdays by introducing you to not one, but two women-owned businesses in Southwest Denver.
Today, I took my daughter for some much needed one-on-one to a holiday cookie decorating class at the fabulous Sew-It-All studio in Littleton, CO. Alicia Pucci, owner and self-proclaimed “Sew-it-All” (and she is…I tell all my friends when they say “if only this shirt or these pants did this…” call Alicia), launched her studio to create a space for people to gather to sew or learn to sew. Classes are open to all levels and ages from beginners to expert. It is becoming a wonderful fixture in the community for like-minded individuals to “come together around the sewing table.” I think crafts like sewing, knitting, needlework, are such a beautiful way to come together to create and build community.

After recently relocating to Colorado from San Francisco, and shuttering her San Francisco studio after nine years, Alicia was excited to get Sew-it-All back in business. Her impressive background includes a degree in Clothing and Textiles from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, costume design and construction in New York City, hobby sewing, custom sewing and teaching. Alicia has exceptional expertise in her field and she is a gifted and patient teacher and just a joy to be around.
The studio offers small group classes limited to eight, so you are sure to get a lot of individual attention! The Sew-it-All Studio also offers Open-Lab style classes which allow you to select your own projects. She also hosts specialty classes and offers private instruction. Over the Thanksgiving break, she offered a hand-sewing camp for kids, which was a huge hit! There really is something for everyone in the warm inviting space.
I invite you to check out her website here for great sewing resources and more information about classes!
One of the things Alicia uses her space for is hosting classes for other makers in our area. Today, she hosted Brenda from Brenda’s Cookie Creations. Brenda specializes in beautifully decorated sugar cookies for all occasions. And, I speak from experience, not only are they gorgeous, they are delicious, too! Brenda’s class offering is limited, but today she taught us us how to use icing to decorate these yummy delights.

Learning a little technique (and with a lot of coaching), I was really surprised at how well our cookies turned out (ours are the Christmas cookies in the box above)! It was a really fun outing with my girl and a few of her friends and other mamas. Brenda also puts together seasonal cookie boxes so you can create your own at home! I think this would make for a really fun gathering with friends around the holidays throughout the year! I can definitely see these cookie kits becoming part of our traditions! Get in touch with Brenda here for your next special occasion!
Don’t wait for next year’s official Small Business Saturday! Shop small ALL year round.
