Well, it’s 80 and sunny today. The leaves are in their glory and we are all waiting for the other shoe to drop tomorrow in the shape of 2″ of snowflakes. In the ski world, the race is on to opening day. Are you ready?
Here is a breakdown of the multi-resort 2019-2020 Ski Season Passes available and the looming deadlines of price increases. There are some great options available across the US even if you are looking for a few days here and there or are just taking a single ski vacation.
The Ikon Pass currently covers 41 ski destinations around the world and prices go up October 17th. They offer 2 passes, one with unlimited days at 14 mountains and 7 days at 26 and no blackouts. The other pass includes unlimited days at 12 resorts and 5 days at the rest, but there are blackout days. They also offer student and military discounts.
Epic Pass prices go up October 13th and offers several options depending on how often and where you like ski most. The Epic Pass offers unlimited and unrestricted access to most of their resorts in the US. In addition, they offer 5-7 days at other resorts in North America, Japan and Europe. The Epic Local Pass provides access to the same mountains, but with more restrictions. A third option, the Epic Day Pass, allows you to purchase up to 7 day passes at a reduced rate. You can choose whether to buy a restricted or unrestricted dates ticket depending on when you’d like to ski. And finally, the Epic School Kids Colorado pass gives Colorado residents grades k-5 four free days at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Crested Butte.
The 2019-2020 Mountain Collective pass provides 2 days at each Collective resort for a total of 36 days, and pass holders receive a 50% discount on additional days. There are no restrictions or blackout days. The number of passes are limited and available until sold out. As of October 9th, there are still passes for sale, but they are nearly sold out.
Forty-four independently owned resorts in North America have come together to offer the Indy Pass. Pass holders receive 2 days at each mountain for a total of 88 days of skiing. Indy Pass offers a 3 payment plan if you purchase by October 16th or 2 payment plan if purchased by November 16th.
